The new piece, titled ‘Clarion Call and Gallop’ serves as a short introduction to the ensemble and opens 5 concerts in 2013/14 season. The new piece will be programmed alongside works by composers with a close connection to Michael including his father Lennox Berkeley and godfather Benjamin Britten.

The commission and performances are supported by the Ralph Vaughan Williams Trust and Berkeley Ensemble Friends.

The premiere of ‘Clarion Call and Gallop’ will take place at St. Richards Church, Ham on 12th October 2013 and performances follow at Little Venice Music Festival, Malcolm Arnold Festival and Wiltshire Music Centre throughout the autumn.
