Lachlan b&w2On the 27th May Lachlan, our double bassist, appeared live on Radio New Zealand where he discussed life as a musician in London as well as the New Cobbett Prize with presenter David Morriss. Also broadcast were tracks from the new album – the New Zealand radio premiere of Michael Berkeley’s Clarion Call and Gallop and the last movement from Ferguson’s Octet.

The Berkeley Ensemble’s debut recording Clarion Call: Music for Septet and Octet is now available for download from Resonus Classics. The recording echoes Beethoven and Schubert with 20th- and 21st-century chamber works by Charles Wood, John Casken, Howard Ferguson and Michael Berkeley.
