Luton Music Club: Dohnányi & Brahms
The Berkeley Ensemble join forces with pianist Simon Callaghan to perform Dohnányi’s Sextet. A singularly impassioned piece – the first written for the unusual combination of piano, string trio, clarinet and horn – it is impetuous, exciting, and colourful, but rarely performed. The programme is completed by Brahms’ Clarinet Trio, compositions by A Level music students from Luton Sixth Form College, and seasonal works including Well Met by Moonlight.
Compositions from Luton Sixth Form College
Brahms: Clarinet Trio, Op.114
Dohnányi: Sextet, Op.37
