St Johns Smith Square: Britten, Copland and others with Southbank Sinfonia
We’re hugely excited to return to Southbank Sinfonia, the orchestra where the Berkeley Ensemble was formed, to work side-by-side with members of the current fellowship on works for large ensemble. In particular, the Britten Sinfonietta was a staple of our founding year with Southbank; we are really looking forward to passing the baton to the next generation of players!
Benjamin Britten Sinfonietta, Op.1 (version for chamber orchestra)
Aaron Copland Appalachian Spring (version for thirteen instruments)
James Stephenson Vignettes for trumpet and percussion
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Quintet for Piano and Winds, K452
