Patrons: Michael Berkeley CBE and Petroc Trelawny

To celebrate the launch of Berkeley Ensemble Online we are inviting students in Years 9-13 (age 13-18) to write a 20 second solo for one of our musicians. We’re not looking for finished pieces: we want your doodles, scribbles and sketches. Watch our ‘meet the Ensemble’ videos to learn more about our musicians and their instruments, then […]

Hot on the heels of our first series of Chamber Music Mornings last autumn, the Berkeley Ensemble is delighted to return with a new spring series of virtual study mornings for amateur musicians. Over the next few months we’ll be exploring repertoire for the larger chamber forces of the Nonet, and delving into movements from Nonets by Farrenc, Martinů and Spohr. Full of […]

Huge fun today working with @sgtoyne and the young composers of @DRETmusic alongside the rest of the @BerkeleyEnsembl team. My personal mission: a one-viola campaign for interesting accompaniments.

Brilliant to be part of this launch today with my @berkeleyensembl colleagues - beaming into schools across Northamptonshire and Lincolnshire! Look forward to working with @DRETmusic over the coming weeks, seeing the pieces develop, and hoping for lots of fun clarinet parts!

Lovely opportunities for budding string players, harpists, pianists and composers at the @NorthLDNFest

Want to learn more about Nonet repertoire following our Recordings Club last week?

Join us for our upcoming Chamber Music Mornings to discover nonets by Spohr, Farrenc and Martinu

My heart, my breath, my life, my death,
Light so bright I scarcely see,
Touch so light I barely feel
My breath, my life, my heart, my death.

Touch Light - words and music by Michael Berkeley (@MichaelBerkele2)

Happy #ValentinesDay 🤍
