Sounds of Suffrage

The Chancellor’s Hall, First Floor, Senate House, Malet Street, London, WC1E 7HU

A concert of music and readings, featuring works of three female composers active in the suffrage movement together with readings from their diaries and letters.  Broadcaster and historian Dr Kate Kennedy narrates.

The concert will be accompanied by an exhibition of scores, diaries and letters written by female composers from the period, drawn from the Senate House Library collection and Dorothy Howell’s archive – with kind permission from Merry and Columb Howell.

The event has been developed in partnership with Senate House Library, the Institute of Historical Research, and Dr. Kate Kennedy.
