Music by three Viennese masters; Mozart looked back towards the Baroque in his taut Adagio and Fugue, just as Brahms’ quintet revisits Mozart’s earlier masterpiece. Schubert broke off work on his C minor quartet, the one complete movement of which anticipates the turbulent Death and the Maiden.
