Berkeley Ensemble clarinettist John Slack makes a welcome return to home ground following a sell-out performance of Mozart and Brahms Clarinet Quintets in 2011. This time he is joined by the wind players of the ensemble presenting a programme from across the North Sea, partnering Gustav Holst’s pastoral Quintet with Nielsen’s masterpiece of the genre in which the composer caricatures the players of the Copenhagen Wind Quintet for which the piece was written.
