Schubert and Woolrich at Glasgow Cathedral
Glasgow Cathedral, Castle Street, Glasgow, G4 0QZ
Celebrating its tenth birthday in style, the Berkeley Ensemble is delighted to present a monumental cornerstone of the repertoire, Schubert’s jubilant Octet for winds and strings. As a birthday present to itself, the ensemble has also commissioned a celebratory work for the same forces by British composer John Woolrich, which will receive its Scottish premiere during this concert, alongside Britten’s dancing divertimenti and an exquisite miniature by Haydn.
Part of the Berkeley Ensemble’s 10th Birthday tour, kindly supported by The Golsoncott Foundation.
